Malaria Net Distribution

Thanks to the tireless work from Jamal Dade, Nema’s Community Health Worker, and the village volunteers who have given up their time to help, we have successfully distributed mosquito nets to all women with children under five years old in 6 villages (Mipande, Ningaia, Runho, Muituro, Crimize and Messano villages). The Mozambican government are now trying to provide all pregnant women with mosquito nets, so Nema has been focusing its efforts on children under the age of five who remain extremely vulnerable to malaria. Every family that receives a long-life insecticide treated net also participates in a malaria training session designed to raise further awareness around preventing and treating malaria.

Special thanks this month to Mary Crimes who raised a staggering £1,500 for this project through her 60th Birthday party!
