Here, it’s estimated that over 60% of children are malnourished. This project targets families with young children, empowering mothers to give their children the nutrients needed for their healthy development. Project coordinator, Manuel, trains and works with local health volunteers to run household workshops and gather vital data regarding child health and food security. Any chronically malnourished child is then monitored by the volunteers and further support given to their families. Meanwhile other Nema projects are focusing on agriculture, enterprise and education to ensure that one day no children will be left vulnerable to malnutrition.
