When Nema first started less than 50% of the population had access to safe drinking water and the majority of pumps were in disrepair.

We have built/rehabilitated 48 water points in our area, providing access to safe drinking water to over 20,000 people. Unfortunately the provision of safe drinking water does not start and finish with building a water point. We are continually training and supporting the local water committees in management, maintenance and hygiene of pumps; without this they would quickly fall into disrepair.

To rehabilitate a water point: £1,000
To build a new water point: £4,500
Annual training of a water committee: £150
