Canzina Daudo is a widow with a big heart. She lives in Naunde village and despite being desperately poor, she takes care of 5 young orphans. Mussa Dade (8 years) and his young sister, Sofiane (2 years), recently lost both their mother and a father. Dade Falume (6) and his little sister Zura Falume (3 years) lost their Mother and were abandoned by their father. And the last one is Abdala Sabura who is 8; he lost his father and his mother wasn’t able to care for him.
Currently Canzina and all the children don’t have a house. They stay in a very small room, provided by their relatives. Canzina is a remarkable woman; intelligent, caring and very hard working. We desperately wanted to help her and the 5 children in her care to build their own home.
So, with the support of Lina (a regular Nema donor), Karen (a recent guest at Guludo) and manpower from the Nema team alongside Canzina herself, we started building a simple, traditional house with an overall budget of $500.
The community leaders are fully behind the project and extremely thankful, for our support. We want to say thank you to everyone who has enabled this project to begin. This is truly a dream come true; a family home for a very special mama and her adopted children.
